FAQs

You are welcome to contact me via the contact page on this website. I endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours so please check your junk/spam folder if you haven’t received a response.

Confidentiality is important and everything you share with me in your session will remain confidential except in certain situations. Exceptions to this include:

  • If I feel that either yourself or someone else is in danger or at serious risk of harm.
  • If I am instructed by a court of law to disclose information.
  • If I become aware that you or someone else is currently involved or will potentially become involved in acts of terrorism, money laundering, radicalisation or other illegal acts.

Where possible, I will endeavour to discuss with you my decision for breaking confidentiality; however, I retain the right to break confidentiality without discussing it with you first, if the urgency of the situation requires me to act immediately to safeguard the safety of yourself or others.

All Counsellors are ethically obligated to undertake regular clinical supervision to ensure our work remains safe and ethical. If I present elements of our work together in supervision, I will ensure your identity remains anonymous.

I am also registered with the ICO and all personal information that I hold is kept in line with GDPR guidelines and those provided by my membership body. More information can be found in my Privacy Policy.

Counselling may be time limited or open ended and how long you may need depends on your reasons for seeking counselling. We can discuss this in more detail at your initial consultation and we will review our work together regularly.

I have a strict cancellation policy requiring 24 hours notice of a cancellation. For cancellations made with less notice, the full fee will still be payable.

If you attend a session late, we are unable to make up the extra time at the end, so your session time will be shorter. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session will be regarded as cancelled.

Many people seek therapy when they are distressed and this can sometimes leave them feeling as if they’re not normal, crazy or going crazy. Life can be difficult and we all respond to events very differently but that doesn’t mean there is a right or a wrong way. You are doing the best you can with the resources you have.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via the details provided on my Contact Page.
